Conte: My commitment to Italy is total

Antonio Conte is focused on delivering European Championship glory for Italy, despite confirming on Tuesday he would be leaving his role as coach after the tournament.

Conte has opted to quit international management in favour of the day-to-day involvement of club football and is widely expected to join Chelsea to replace interim boss Guus Hiddink.

Before any possible move to Stamford Bridge, however, the 46-year-old is intent on guiding the Azzurri to a strong finish at the finals in France, which get under way in June.

He told his official Facebook page: Right now, our concentration is addressed solely on the European Championship where we will try to make the most of our potential with hard work and sacrifice.

Those who know me know that my commitment…

FIFA releases full ´Garcia Report´ into World Cup bidding process after Bild leak

FIFA has released the full report from Michael Garcia s investigation into the controversial bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in Russia and Qatar respectively.

The decision from world football s governing body comes after German publication Bild obtained what it said was a leaked copy of the findings and on Monday published allegations it claimed were included in the document.

Garcia, a former New York attorney, was appointed by FIFA in 2012 to investigate allegations of corruption surrounding the bidding process for the World Cups in Russia and Qatar.

His report was submitted to the world governing body in September 2014, with FIFA releasing a summary two months later that cleared Russia and Qatar of wrongdoing. However, Garcia claimed at the tim…

Ba slams Serie A racists and calls for exodus as Belgian FA rallies behind Lukaku

Demba Ba has urged black players to abandon Serie A after Romelu Lukaku was subjected to racism within days of joining Inter.

Former Manchester United striker Lukaku faced abuse from the stands as his new club won 2-1 away against Cagliari at Sardegna Arena on Sunday.

The incident, which came as Lukaku prepared to take a penalty, has been widely condemned outside Italy, and the Royal Belgian Football Association ran a newspaper advert in support of its player on Wednesday.

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini promised stadium bans could be enforced if the racists are identified, but he said that fighting ignorance is difficult and argued closing sections of grounds would not be the correct response.

In a startling statement, Inter s Curva Nord supporter…

Poland v Colombia: No time to dwell on regrets, warns Aguilar

Colombia cannot afford to dwell on regrets from the defeat to Japan in their World Cup opener when they face Poland in a crucial second Group H match, according to midfielder Abel Aguilar.

Jose Pekerman s side came into the tournament as strong favourites to win, but Carlos Sanchez was sent off in the third minute of the 2-1 loss to ensure a miserable start.

That result, coupled with Poland s defeat by the same scoreline to Senegal, means the two sides find themselves in a precarious position.

Senegal and Japan face each other three hours earlier and a draw in that clash will mean defeat for either Colombia or Poland would result in their elimination.

And while Aguilar acknowledges Colombia have no choice but to win, he is adamant Pekerman s side are calm…

Beaten Mourinho snipes at Solskjaer: ´Sonny is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ol

Jose Mourinho launched a bizarre tirade at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Manchester United boss criticised Tottenham forward Son Heung-min.

United manager Solskjaer expressed his displeasure at Son going to ground in the first half of Sunday s Premier League match between the teams, after Scott McTominay flicked an arm the South Korean s way.

It was a tame midfield incident that led to an Edinson Cavani goal for United being disallowed following a VAR review, and despite Solskjaer seeing his team come from a goal down to win 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Norwegian gave a withering verdict of Son s reaction.

Solskjaer pithily told Sky Sports: I have to say, if my son stays down like this for three minutes and he gets 10 of his mates around him… if …

I was very sad – Wenger´s Gnabry regret as Bayern star targets Champions League glory

Arsene Wenger has expressed his frustration that Arsenal did not see the best of Serge Gnabry.

By scoring twice in Bayern Munich s 3-0 victory over Lyon on Wednesday, Gnabry took his goals haul to nine in this season s Champions League.

Gnabry could be a star of Sunday s final against Paris Saint-Germain, and may consider the great strides he has taken since returning to Germany as confirmation he was right to leave Arsenal.

His exit at the age of 21 in August 2016 came just weeks after then Arsenal boss Wenger went on the record as saying he hoped Gnabry would commit to the Gunners for the long term.

Instead, Gnabry chose the option of joining Werder Bremen, before switching to Bayern 10 months later.

Let s not forget Gnabry, I bought him at th…

Rangnick urges Man Utd players to be ´direct´ with each other, like Ronaldo

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has urged his players to follow the lead of Cristiano Ronaldo and be more direct with one another.

Ronaldo called for United fans to have patience with Rangnick s approach in a recent interview with Sky Sports, and said he and his team-mates can do better .

The 36-year-old added that he does not want to be in sixth place or seventh place and that he returned to the club  to try to win, to compete.

United have only lost one of Rangnick s seven matches in charge across all competitions, but recent performances have received criticism from fans and pundits alike, including Monday s 1-0 FA Cup win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Speaking at a news conference ahead of Saturday s trip to Villa in the P…

West Brom sign CR7 in swap deal… sort of

West Brom got their man on Wednesday, but it was not Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although the newly promoted Premier League club introduced the arrival of CR7 , the 101-goal Portugal great will not be turning out at the Hawthorns this season.

West Brom were instead celebrating the capture of Republic of Ireland international Callum Robinson, who will wear their number seven shirt.

Robinson spent the second half of last season on loan with the Baggies as they finished second in the Championship.

Clasico scheduled for December 18 following Barcelona, Real Madrid requests

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has accepted Barcelona and Real Madrid s joint request for the rescheduled Clasico to take place on December 18.

Bitter rivals Barca and Madrid reached a quick consensus on a potential new date for the fixture after civil unrest in Catalonia forced their first encounter of the 2019-20 season, which was originally set to take place on October 26, to be postponed.

RFEF s Competition Committee announced the acceptance of the proposal on Wednesday, but the agreed date may yet face further opposition from LaLiga.

According to reports, the administrator of Spanish football s top two tiers could challenge the decision in court, as it opposes the idea of playing a match of such immense global interest in midweek. LaLiga is s…
